Snow Patrol - Open Your Eyes
All this feels strange and untrue And I won't waste a minute without you My bones ache, my skin feels cold And I'm getting so tired and so old
The anger swells in my guts And I won't feel these slices and cuts I want so much to open your eyes 'Cause I need you to look into mine
Tell me that you'll open your eyes [x4]
Get up, get out, get away from these liars 'Cause they don't get your soul or your fire Take my hand, knot your fingers through mine And we'll walk from this dark room for the last time
Every minute from this minute now We can do what we like anywhere I want so much to open your eyes 'Cause I need you to look into mine
Tell me that you'll open your eyes [x8]
All this feels strange and untrue And I won't waste a minute without you
beautiful song, though a big draggy with the repeated phrases. had our first gig last night. it was an experience, that's all i'm gonna say. elections tomorrow. heh. wish me luck (:

ROMA..... OWNED (:
Seventh Heaven in Theatre of Dreams. Fergie's Boys Go Ultrasonic. Magnificent Seven. Wednesday's headlines may have been a tad on the predictable side, but the result and performance they were hailing was anything but.
Shorn of several key players through injury and suspension, two successive defeats beforehand for the first time in 18 months, up against a Roma side full of attacking talent... Manchester United fans had every reason to be nervous beforehand.
But a dazzling display adorned with seven goals of bewitching quality left Sir Alex Ferguson purring that "in European terms, it was without doubt the greatest night I have had here".
Little wonder given the statistics. It was the biggest winning margin ever in a Champions League knock-out round match, and the biggest victory in a European Cup or Champions League quarter-final since Real Madrid thumped Seville 8-0 in 1958.
Only Juventus, with a 7-0 group win against Olympiacos in 2003, have bettered it since the Champions League came into being.
United had matched it with a 7-1 win over Waterford at the start of the defence of their European Cup title in 1968, but with due respect to the Irish side, Roma are second in Serie A.
Older fans may recall the 4-1 final victory over Benfica that brought United their first European Cup, or even a 10-0 rout of Anderlecht on their home debut in Europe in 1956 - what Sir Matt Busby called "one of the most perfect exhibitions my side has ever given".
As a 12-year-old I remember the night Diego Maradona's Barcelona arrived at Old Trafford in 1984 with a 2-0 lead, only for Captain Marvel Bryan Robson to give one of his most inspired performances, scoring twice in a memorable 3-0 victory.
In the Ferguson era, there have been two victories in European finals, but the outstanding performances were probably the 4-0 home rout of Porto in 1997, and certainly the Roy Keane-inspired comeback from 2-0 down to Juventus in the 1999 semi-final.
But in terms of a single, dominant display against quality opposition on a European stage, has Wednesday's destruction of Roma ever been bettered by an English team?
Liverpool's comeback from 3-0 down against AC Milan in the final two years ago may have surpassed it for sheer drama and backs-to-the-wall determination, but did it match or better it for quality?
The Liverpool side that secured three European Cups in five years from 1977-1981 might point to a 5-1 destruction of Dynamo Dresden in '77, a 4-1 quarter-final win at Benfica the same year, or maybe the 5-1 quarter-final win over CSKA Sofia in 1981.
Supporters of two-time winners Nottingham Forest might remember a 5-1 win over AEK Athens in 1978, or a 4-1 quarter-final win over the Swiss side Grasshoppers.
Hell, Arsenal fans might even point to their victory over Real in Madrid last year or the 2-0 quarter-final victory over Juventus en route to the final.
But for sheer footballing brilliance and scintillating goals, the rout of Roma takes some beating for me. What do you reckon?
9:18 pm
Man Utd 7 - 1 Roma (8-3 on agg.)

Carrie Underwood - I Just Can't Live A Lie
Lately nothing I do ever seems to please you And maybe turning my back would be that much easier Cause hurtful words are all that we exchange But I can't watch you walk away
Can I forget about the way it feels to touch you? And all about the good times that we've been through Could I wake up without you every day? Would I let you walk away?
No, I can't learn to live without And I can't give up on us now
[Chorus] Oh, I know I could say we're through And tell myself I'm over you But even if I made a vow I promise not to miss you now And try to hide the truth inside I'd fail cause I, I just can't live a lie
Could I forget the look that tells me that you want me? And all the reasons that make loving you so easy The kiss that always makes it hard to breathe The way you know just what I mean
No, I can't learn to live without Ohh, so don't you give up on us now
Ohh, I know I could say we're through And tell myself I'm over you But even if I made a vow I promise not to miss you now And try to hide the truth inside I'd fail cause I, I just can't live a lie
Ohh, and I don't wanna try
Ohhhh, I know I could say we're through And tell myself I'm over you But even if I made a vow I promise not to miss you now And try to hide the truth inside I'd fail cause I, I just can't live a lie
I just can't live a lie
But even if I made a vow I promise not to miss you now And try to hide the truth inside I'd fail cause I, I just can't live a lie
Oh, I cant live a lie [x2]
this is a nice song. o: and one of my guilty pleasures. whahaha. *blush*

My Chemical Romance - I Don't Love You
Directed by Marc Webb
It's been a while since I was last able to sit in front of a music video, watch it and come away feeling utterly stunned. I remember that Green Day's 'When September Ends' video moved me, and once upon an eon ago I can drudge up memories of feeling a surprisingly girlish thrill when my favorite boy-band – which will remain nameless (embarrassment is paramount at admitting this) – paraded across the screen dancing highly choreographed (and cheesy) moves and crooning into the camera. But stunned is a long way off from girlish giggling. My Chemical Romance's new video for I Don't Love You (directed and conceived by the wonderful Marc Webb) has been described as an art student's dream come alive, and in this case I would have to agree whole-heartedly. Every movement, every cut focusing on the characters that embody the song is deliberate and emotionally breathtaking to watch. The focus on the band is not nearly as intense, but it is equally as moving – especially the range of facial expressions displayed by front-man Gerard Way.
While some may argue that too much focus has been placed on Gerard and his highly emotional delivery, the viewer needs to understand that this (like the entire video) was deliberately done. The characters do not display any form of facial emotion – their pain is conveyed through the stains left on the girl’s skin and the slow inevitability of each gesture. In contrast, the facial expressions that Gerard goes through are over the top and more than a little exaggerated – perfect artistic contrast. The concept behind the video and the message conveyed by the song match perfectly, and are both staggeringly simple. Every time you love, you walk away stained by the one you have loved and who has loved you back. You begin to carry traces of them around within your very essence. The pain and courage in this song lies in the confession that your love has changed in depth and in emotional range – even if it threatens to shatter your very soul.
This video is utterly stunning – from the many highly photographic stills, to the intensely passionate yet passive portrayal of the characters, and even though I literally had to sit for a few moments after the last note faded in order to fully absorb what I had just seen, I must ultimately bow in the direction of My Chemical Romance and Marc Webb. Beautifully stunning and well done.
